This
is indeed God’s invaluable Blessing in my life that
the 150th Anniversary Celebration of Christ Presbyterian Church
in 1985, was during my tenure of office, and very wonderfully
by the grace of God, it has become possible and a reality
that I should participate in this 170th Anniversary Celebration.
Thank be to God.
Permit
me to emphasis e in the words of Oseadeyo Addo Dankwa III
that ‘ had it not been the peculiar qualities exhibited
by the late Andreas Riis and his ability to win the hearts
of his hosts, particularly, the then Paramount Chief of Akuapem
Nana Addo Dankwa I, Christianity and Education would have
taken a longer time to take roots in Akropong in particular
and Ghana generally. Riis brought Blackmen to Akropong –Akuapem
to prove that Blackmen also could read the Whiteman’s
Book (i.e. the Bible).
It
has also been proved to be acceptable that the cordial relationship
between Andreas Riis and the early missionaries and Nana Addo
Dankwa I had been an encouraging guide to enable present Church
and the Traditionalist to help bridge the gab between religion
and Tradition.
Oseadeyo
Addo Dankwa III and his Traditionalists participated gloriously
in the 150th Anniversary Celebration and it is indeed a fat
that they are once more participating fully with pomp and
pageantry to praise and thank God for their predecessors who
laid a good foundation for the peace, progress and prosperity
for the subsequent generations to enjoy.
It’s
my fervent desire that God in this 170th Anniversary celebration
may shower his immerse Blessing on both the Church and the
state to ensure immeasurable peace and understanding-unity
on the Territorial Land of Akuapem and especially her catchment
areas to His glory.
May
Grace, Mercy and Peace from God the Father, The Son and the
Holy Ghost be with us all through out this celebration and
forever
Long
live Akropong Community
Long live Christ Presbyterian Church Akropong-Akuapem,
Long live Presbyterian Church of Ghana,
Long live Ghana.
